CRM: A Healthy Relationship

What even is CRM?

A Customer Relationship Management System, aka CRM System, is a tool that organizes and automates communications to your contact database. These can include emails, text messages and appointment reminders. CRM Systems can also alert sales people when a new lead arrives or when it’s time to follow-up on a prospect. At it’s core, a CRM System provides unmatched prospect management which ultimately results in higher conversions. The first step in CRM development is to create persuasive ads that motivate a user to click. After the click, they are directed to a landing page where the offer is presented. At this point a form is filled out and the offer is delivered. The content of the form, our prospects contact information, is now populated to the CRM System for further nurturing.

What makes this work?

Forms

The forms that are placed on landing pages typically need to be shorter in format. With many users on a mobile device, it becomes tedious to complete too many fields. In most cases a name, email and cell phone number works nicely.

CRM Database

After the user has filled out the form and clicked submit, their contact information is delivered to the database in your CRM System. You can now search for them by name, location, area of interest or many more tags that have been applied to their submission. At this point, if necessary, the prospect can be assigned to a sales person and managers can monitor lead nurturing on a group or individual basis.

Opens and Clicks

An email open and subsequent click through can tell you a lot about your prospect. Maybe they respond to sales or new arrivals or fee waivers. In any event, a CRM System allows you to easily monitor these insightful user behaviors. Which allows you to optimize their offerings and increase conversions.

Tags and Sequences

What makes a CRM System function better than most any other form of prospect management is the ability to automatically apply tags to a lead and then place them in an automated contact sequence. This allows follow up to be a warm call where sales people know which area of interest a prospect has indicated and future nurturing is done on an automated basis. Also, CRM Systems allow deep insight into user behavior in the form of email opens and click through which helps establish a fuller understanding of their needs.

How does this help me?

The most important part of Customer Relationship Management is the Relationship. A well designed and developed CRM System allows you to create lasting relationships with your customers by understanding how they met you and how the relationship has grown. Over time, a thorough understanding of buyer personas and types allow for a fuller customer experience and the opportunity to customize offerings for higher conversions.
